Marshall Public Works Director Jason Anderson said, "City administration regards the plat as a formality because there is little reason to not approve a plat to merge parcels and clear up property descriptions."

According to the agenda packet, Dollar General had bought two properties for construction along East College Drive.

The store building, however, is presently perched over the lot line that separates the two lots. City zoning regulations, which demand property line setbacks, forbid that.
